What is addiction treatment about?

Treatments for addiction involve medication
and psychiatric help. With both of these
treatments, drug and alcohol addiction can be
treated. It is important that both of these
treatments work hand-in-hand to let the
patient with addiction problem fully recover.
You have to realize the fact that addiction
affects the person both mentally and
physically. Physically, the body will need
the substances found in alcohol and in drugs.
In turn, it will also trigger the mind that
will make a person think that they need a
particular drug or alcohol in order to
survive. If either the medication or the
psychiatric treatment fails, the person being
treated will go back to his or her old ways
and continue abuse drugs or alcohol.
