Is it possible to become addicted to a drug even if you have only tried it once?

Answered By Malen Roberson, Editor

Yes. Drugs are very powerful substances that can give a person a certain high or rush. If the person is weak, he may be addicted immediately to the rush or high and constantly look for it.

Some drug addicts rationalized in the early stages that if they take only a considerate amount they will not get addicted. But as a person develops a tolerance, the dosage needed to achieve the previous rush would increase, thus creating the cravings that make a person addicted.
